We have always said that our travels do not stem from a desire to leave someplace, but rather to go somewhere else. To us it is a significant difference. I think it is a corollary to the “glass half-empty or glass half-full” thing.
And so it was, on 01 December, when we departed Montpellier. It had been a wonderful place to be, to make friends, to eat, and to explore the surrounding areas. We had not seen everything there was to see, but that wasn’t the goal to begin with.
We made friends here. There are so many people that touched our lives and made every encounter a fun adventure in itself. Some we hope to see again and some we may not; but we like to think that we will be remembered in some small, positive way.
If we had never met Sophie, who assisted us with our baguette purchases, we would never have met David and Kate, the wonderful couple from Seattle who have beautifully renovated an apartment in the medieval section of town. We had a great time with them, especially our hike out in the nature preserve. Likewise, we finally got the time to visit with the young owners of our apartment, Cyril, Maylis and their beautiful daughter Mathilde. designs. We would have loved to have remained longer, but … it was time to move on.
As always, it is the people that have made each place special, and it is the people that make it difficult to leave. But the place itself is what I will share through these images … I hope you enjoy them.

27 Dec 2014Love the selfie! Wonderful photos once again. I think it is neat how many portable tents were up during inclement weather. With shop space at a premium, no doubt the overflow to the sidewalk and street is an integral part of their business. Greetings from us all back back in Florida!
